Do you know I had I Schwinn it was junk, the brakes were so bad I had to use my shoes for brakes it lasted me 3 weeks before I totaled it and they went under. Huffy bikes are the # 3 bike in America and still in business. It will handle the abuse To tell you the truth I am a car guy and this is another hobby And nobody wants an opinion from a guy who is ridiculous and a moron and you did not answer my question!!! CJaguar, If a Huffy has sentimental value, then who are we to judge? I have a Royce Union I keep around for personal reasons as well, as a reminder of where I started, both physically and also because when I resumed riding for health reasons, my grandfather, who passed away bought it for me because he wanted to encourage me to ride. Huffy does have an extensive database on their bikes and the Gila was likely made by Pacific for Huffy. I'm guessing it's around 10-12 years old, maybe less? By the way, I'm one of those 'nuts that hangs in C&V':p;) Here's SOME info on Huffy Serial Numbers Here's a general Huffy Owners Manual TallRider 06-12-07 11:11 AM. It will handle the abuse To tell you the truth I am a car guy and this is another hobby And nobody wants an opinion from a guy who is ridiculous and a moron and you did not answer my question!!! I'm not trying to be mean and intentionally not answer your question - I just had no idea, and didn't think it likely that anyone else would either. I was simply making a descriptive statement - I would be surprised if anyone here cares enough about huffy bikes to know anything about the serial numbers. This is because Huffy has nearly always catered to the low-end market, Wal-Mart type bikes. Which isn't to say that they don't work. But lots of people in C&V are interested in Vintage Schwinns and Treks because the bikes had reputation for good workmanship. Some bikes have multiple serial numbers. 2 When adding a bike to the Index, it's best to enter all the groups of numbers and letters separated by spaces. Hopefully you can find the serial number on the bicycle you're looking at, email [email protected] if you're having trouble. Huffy not so much. Anyway, Tom Stormcrowe provided information that does indeed surprise me. And perhaps helps you to answer your question. Yep, some of the older Huffy's, like the muscle bikes are quite collectible, as well as some of the the old Cruisers. I've only been familiar with their bikes since the late 80's, and those have been very undesirable to be brought into bike shops, since the parts (and often frames) are low-precision and thus really a pain to work on. I know that the U.S. Team road Huffy bikes in the 1984 Olympics, but of course that's only Huffy paying to have their name put on the bikes that were made for the Olympic team by whoever else. Btw Tom, congrats on your cycling and weightloss and diabetes remission! No string drag on the deck (unlike the Barnetts and Hortons of the time) and no limb failures. They are definately Sth African, and were a good, reliable, affordable, and simple crossbow. They also could be fitted with a dedicated Crisbow scope, with range finding reticle, perhaps one of the first of its kind for crossbows. Crisbow mk iv owners manual free. That's really impressive in two years. Good luck in the 100k ride. CJaguar265 06-12-07 11:58 AM.
